'Dancing For Charity' Program

'Dancing For Charity'

Overview
Simply by participating in a VIP Dance event, competitive dancers are given the opportunity to share their passion by dancing for the good of others. Here is how it works...

A charitable donation will be made for each and every routine that performs on the VIP Dance stage.

Dancers will continue to receive our famous "VIP Dance All Access Pass" award cards. In addition, dancers will be presented with a beautiful medal for each routine highlighting the award and the charitable donation of $2 per adjudicated award presented.

Selected Charities
VIP Dance will choose three charities to support each year. More information on each of these charities will be found on our website as the charities are selected. Selected charities will also be featured in our 2008 Program Books. If your studio wishes to select a charity of your own, VIP Dance will be more than happy to make a donation to that charity in the amount earned by your studio.

Donation Totals
Following the competition, charitable studio earnings will be totaled and posted on our website for viewing.

2010 CHARITIES
Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. JDRF was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes children suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump. Since its founding, JDRF has awarded more than $1 billion to diabetes research.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility anywhere. Discoveries made at St. Jude have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do more science, more quickly; where doctors across the world send their toughest cases and most vulnerable patients; where no one pays for treatment beyond what is covered by insurance, and those without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude has built America's 3rd-largest health-care charity, with a model that keeps the costs down and the funds flowing, so the science never stops.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. LLS's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since the first funding in 1954, LLS has awarded more than $600 million in research funding. Leukemia is the #1 disease-related cause of death in children under the age of twenty. There are over 138,000 new cases each year.
